Race For Career Oriented Education

Education is important for the upbringing and overall development of a person however, today education is not limited to the overall development. Today is the era of career oriented education; almost every child is asked his ambition in life or what would be his career choice as an adult?

Since Childhood, training is acquired to pursue education in the field he or his parents thinks he should fit in and since then the race for career oriented education begins.  Institutions offering career oriented courses are on sudden hype. All the institutes have bucked up and pulled their socks in order to offer student’s different career oriented courses.

The era of just basic curriculum is left far behind and people are moving from common elective courses like Computers, Publishing, Athletics, Foreign language to professional electives like Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) courses. The AP and IB format has more demand for further education than the common elective courses. The academics are however difficult than the common electives. Similarly to acquire a bachelor’s degree the common electives are Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.), Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.), Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.,) or Bachelor of Philosophy (B.Phil.) however students more or less fall for professional courses like law, medicine, pharmacy, and dentistry. The masters’ degree has the same story to narrate. The common electives in masters’ degree are Master of Arts (MA), Master of Science (MS) Master of Education (MEd), and Master of Fine Arts (MFA) however more or less students are opting for professional courses like, Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Specialist in Education (Ed.S.).

Education is regarded as a part of child’s upbringing, a process which can make the child a responsible adult. Education trains him to think positively, analyze the problems in his life and express his views skillfully to the people. Education also teaches a child the importance of manners and discipline that helps him as an adult to acquire his desired goals in life. It is not right to take education as a medium to acquire money in the adulthood.

The quest for career oriented education or measures to train yourself for the best career you think you, you fit in is not wrong however while acquiring such training one should always remember his importance of education. Education may shape up your career but one should never forget it shapes up your life too.

Since childhood a person spends more time in his school, and college than with his parents. In schools he is taught some very important principles like sharing, unity and teamwork which form the part of his behavior in the adulthood. Whatever career he may pursue he utilizes these principles in his career which enables him with his desired success. Training is a must for a person to acquire the desired goals however while acquiring training, putting efforts and working hard to achieve your goals, one should always remember the basic principles taught in pre-school and elementary schools that forms the crux of your life.
