Lsu Tigers Men’s Basketball Tickets And Seating Chart

It’s been a great new experience for the men’s basketball team at LSU. Although the entire facility will not be complete until sometime in 2010, the LSU Tigers were excited to practice in their own brand new facility recently. When the construction is complete, there will be a new media room, new team dressing room, equipment facilities, training facilities and two practice gyms; the latter of which has already been finished and made available to the players recently. Although the LSU Tigers were not the first to use the new facilities (the women’s basketball team used them the previous weekend), they made good use of the 11,324 square foot gym which is an exact replica of the Maravich Center competition court.

Fans, coaches, staff and team members are optimistic that the new gyms will allow the team to create more focus and concentration on their game skills and build a longer repertoire of wins. Thus far, the LSU Tigers have won games against UL-Monroe, Indiana State, Western Kentucky and UL-Lafayette. Perhaps there’s no connection whatsoever, but all of the winning games have been played at the Maravich Center. By contrast, the two away games in the season tip-off against Connecticut and Arizona State were losses for the LSU Tigers. Connecticut beat the Tigers 81-55 and Arizona State dusted the LSU Tigers 71-52.

With plenty of games ahead in the 2009-2010 season and quite a few of the games scheduled at home, there are plenty of opportunities for the LSU Tigers to make this their best season ever. Once finals are complete, the LSU Tigers will return to the court for December games against Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana, Nicholls and Rice. The start of the Cougar Hardwood Classic marks the rest of the games in December for the LSU Tigers with games against Washington State and Xavier (Ohio).

Recognized officially as the Pete Maravich Assembly Center at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, it takes its name from Peter Press Maravich (23), all-century team member whose list of accomplishments for the LSU Tigers stretches a mile long but whose life ended suddenly in 1988. Affectionately referred to by most as simply Maravich Center, this two-level facility has been the home to many great games played by the LSU Tigers men’s basketball team.

The upper level has sections 304 through 337 designated as the student section. Sections 202, 203, 102, 103 and part of 104 are also set aside for students. So, when making your seating selections, be sure to keep this in mind. Ample seating throughout the rest of the entire venue offer excellent sites from every seat. Maravich Center is a spacious venue that takes every seat to the game for an experience watching the LSU Tigers heat up the court. If you haven’t take advantage of the opportunity to experience the LSU Tigers in motion, you owe it to yourself to get tickets to some of these great games held at Maravich Center.

As the LSU Tigers move into the season, there are 13 games scheduled at the Maravich Center and whether you want to attend all of these games or just a chosen one or two, there’s no question that great seats are still available to see the LSU Tigers take on opponents like Utah, Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Georgia and McNeese State.

Now is the perfect time to score group seating in your ideal location and ensure that you don’t miss one single moment of the action as the LSU Tigers prepare to hit the new gym in practice and hone their skills for the upcoming games.

Tennessee Titans Tickets – Johnson Deserves Raise before Season

Tennessee Titans Tickets – Johnson Deserves Raise before Season

Last season Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson earned 5,000.  Meanwhile, in a strange, alternate universe, JaMarcus Russell earned .1 million.  It doesn’t take enormous intellect to understand that something doesn’t quite add up, especially considering that Johnson had one of the greatest years as a running back in the history of the league and Russell was swiftly cut by the Raiders in the offseason.  Clearly Johnson has outplayed his contract, but does that mean the Titans should swoop in and give him the contract that he deserves?  After all, business is business.  Right?

In most sports and for most positions, that would certainly be the case, but this is a different set of circumstances.  Running back is the most physically demanding position in the NFL, easily the most physically demanding major sport in the world.  The average career span of a running back in the NFL has always hovered around three years due to the toll that the position takes on the body.  Chris Johnson is currently a dominant player with fresh legs, but, as we have seen over and over again, there is no guarantee that will last for very long.  The NFL is littered with talented backs who have torn it up in brief stints and are suddenly out of work because their bodies simply couldn’t keep up.

Johnson is, of course, still very young and in top physical condition, so there is no reason to think that will happen to him any time soon.  The problem is that you just never know.  After setting the NFL record for most combined yards (rushing and receiving) in 2009 and being the league’s most electric player, Johnson is slated to make roughly 0,000 in base salary in 2010, making him the most undervalued athlete possibly ever.  Considering the way that the NFL chews up running backs, this is one time that holding out this offseason isn’t just an option for Johnson; it’s the only option.

If Johnson was playing this well as a quarterback, a new contract would have already been drafted up, as quarterbacks are expected to be the leaders of the team for a long time.  With backs, however, teams understand that they constantly have to look for a replacement, and there is minimal risk in angering Johnson by refusing to give him a new contract.  Whether it’s ethical is a whole different story – one that usually doesn’t enter into the equation in the NFL.

In another sport, it would make sense for the player to simply play out his rookie contract and wait for his next one.  In the NBA, younger players are constantly undervalued, though it usually works out once their rookie contracts expire and they get a chance to sign second-level contracts.  Due to the length of careers in comparison to the NFL, this system works very well for the NBA.  This should provide little solace to Chris Johnson, however, as there is always a very real possibility as an NFL running back that you will never make it to your next contract before your body gives out.

Obviously Chris Johnson isn’t headed to the poor house if he doesn’t get a new contract.  With bonuses for 2010 added into the equation, Johnson will actually take home closer to million in total, which is an improvement but one that still leaves him terribly underpaid compared to his peers.  It’s often easy to sympathize with teams when players hold out looking for new contracts; this simply isn’t one of those occasions.

Johnson is also the Titans’ most marketable player and his base salary for 2010 is laughable considering his recent productivity, even if his numbers dip from his ridiculous 2009 campaign.  Johnson is in his prime and will continue to sell plenty of <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link/2580545']);” href=”<a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link/2580545']);” href=”http://www.stubhub.com/tennessee-titans-tickets/”>Tennessee”>http://www.stubhub.com/tennessee-titans-tickets/”>Tennessee Titans tickets</a> this season, though there is no telling how many more seasons he’ll be able to do just that given the nature of the position.  The Titans need to square with Johnson as a sign of good faith to the rest of the team.

Louisville Cardinals Tickets – Coach Kragthorpe Stays!

Louisville Cardinals Tickets – Coach Kragthorpe Stays!

It was expected that Coach Steve Kragthorpe of the Louisville Cardinals will throw in the towel after the team lost to Rutgers University’s Scarlet Knights. He stood his ground and declared that he will not quit and that he will stay on as coach until his contract ends on 2011.

The Cardinals had a very dismal season, said to be the worst one since the 80′s. The last time that they had a losing season was in 1997. Coach Kragthorpe is on his second season with the team after he took over the job as head coach when then coach Bobby Petrino left to be with the Atlanta Falcons. Petrino made it possible for the Cardinals to be a part of the 2006 Orange Bowl.

Coach Kragthorpe recognizes the fact that people are disappointed but said that he would stay on to put it right. According to him that the team is still intact as seen in how it played hard until the end during that game with the Scarlet Knights despite its being undermanned. The Cardinals was behind that it dashed any hopes of making it to the Orange Bowl.

Despite the bleak showing this season, Coach Kragthorpe is optimistic that next year will be a much better one. A number of their players who came back did pretty well.

The team was besieged with problems since he took the helm with a number of players leaving due to transfers or were dismissed. There were also a number who got injured. Hopefully the problem with depth in players rank will be addressed.

There are also some issues in the staffing with their defensive coordinator Ron English being considered as head coach in two universities. When asked to comment about this information, Coach Kragthorpe replied that any staffing issues will be dealt with later and that he will be back in 2009.

Tom Jurich, the university’s athletic director and the person responsible for his hiring continues to stand by him. The extension of Coach Kragthorpe’s contract has never been mentioned and even Coach Kragthorpe himself is not expecting one but he would rather concentrate on the chance to better lead the Cardinal’s football program.

They had hoped that 2008 will be a better year for them with their having a game schedule that included approximately eight games in the home ground and the travel to other games were shorter because these were in Syracuse and Memphis.

Though Coach Kragthorpe has declared that next year a stronger team will emerge yet they have to contend with more difficulties such as a more grueling schedule. They will also have to face Utah which has not suffered any loss this season plus the fact that the Cardinals themselves have yet to name their quarterback.

There were a lot of changes in the past and there will be more to come. That would include the players who will ultimately be named and the same goes for the coaching staff. But as Coach Kragthorpe said, they are in it for a long haul.

Oakland Athletics Tickets – Plans not Finalized for New Stadium

Category : Region V

Oakland Athletics Tickets – Plans not Finalized for New Stadium

It became official when Commissions Bud Selig wrote a letter to Lew Wolff, owner of the Oakland Athletics, advising that if the deal with Fremont, California to build a new ballpark there falls through, he can talk with other areas about building.

This opens up some opportunities for the club to have talks with other communities, including Santa Clara County, which is considered within San Francisco Giants’ land. In the past, the Giants have blocked the possibility of a move into that area by the Oakland A’s.

Wolff believes a door that was previously closed is now open to them but hasn’t lost sight of Fremont. “The other communities are all over us now because of the letter but I’m not listening to them yet. I don’t want to start this process all over again,” Wolff said.

Unfortunately, there’s no speeding train running from Freemont. Wolff believe he’ll know by June if CISCO Field will be built in Fremont or elsewhere. Apparently not everyone in Fremont wants the new ballpark in their back yard. Even though the ballpark is being nearly entirely funded by private means, the Fremont City Council has yet to approve the deal.

Over two years ago, CISCO and the Oakland A’s made an agreement to purchase the Fremont property and build a new ballpark. The promise to purchase hasn’t been enough to get the necessary approval however and Wolff’s feeling the frustration. “We’re literally going to homes talking to people,” Wolff said, “They think we’re going to bring gangs to the community.”

The Oakland A’s have shared a facility with the football team almost all of the franchise’s history except for 1982 to 1994. They’ve been sharing the Coliseum since their relocation from Kansas in 1968. Although talks did commence with Oakland officials about building on the Coliseum parking lot, the talks didn’t amount to anything and were ended.

Because talks have not come to fruition with Fremont, Selig believes it was important to give Wolff a plan B. “It is important that we get some resolution in the near future,” Selig wrote in the December 8 letter to Wolff. “As a result, I’ve decided…you may begin to discuss a ballpark with other communities…”

Fremont, California is right in line behind San Jose, Oakland and San Francisco as the fourth most densely populated communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. Wolff believe that building the new ballpark in Fremont would easily create hundreds of union jobs in a city with a population of approximately 211,660 people.

Wolff, who was part of a group that purchased the Oakland A’s in 2005, is also a fraternity brother of Selig. Both went to University of Wisconsin. In 2006, Wolff made the announcement that he wanted to build the franchise their own ballpark.

The hope has continued to be that he will be able to build in Fremont but, according to Selig, Wolff can keep his options open, which means he can consider Santa Clara County as well.

Join the Coach with the Worst Job in College Football with University of Miami Football Tickets

Join the Coach with the Worst Job in College Football with University of Miami Football Tickets

Miami football tickets are always hard to find, and that’s because the Hurricanes have been one of the most dominant college football programs in the country over the past 20 – 25 years. Few teams can match the sizzling style of play, intensity and pure intimidation that the ‘Canes bring to the field every time out. Many an opponent has in effect lost the game before it started due to the aura of Miami.

However, that aura is in a downward cycle, and the piranhas are starting to turn their appetite towards their embattled coach. Larry Coker has done almost nothing but win since he took over for Butch Davis, and fans, students, alumni and boosters are starting to call for his ouster now that the team has gotten off to a bad start and finds itself out of the Top 25 for the first time in years.

There are several reasons, therefore, that of all the “big-time” college football jobs out there, Miami’s is the worst of the lot. No one goes to Miami and is set for life, as is the case for programs like Notre Dame, USC and Nebraska if a winning tradition is established. There are several reasons for this reality, and we’ll examine them below.

Expectations

No school, not even Notre Dame, puts the same level of expectations into their football team that they do at Miami. The Hurricanes have won five national championships, and basically, any year that doesn’t conclude with another national championship trophy is considered a failure. Although the team has always been very good, this all started with Howard Schnellenberger’s teams of the 1980′s and the tradition they established. This tradition was continued with the likes of Jimmy Johnson, who brought home his share of hardware as well.

Fans

Although Miami football tickets are always snapped up, the program is in some ways a victim of its own fervent fans, as this group is always ready to create a loud and intimidating environment, but they’re also quick to turn when things go bad. Simply put, the fans have become spoiled with winning, and any coach who doesn’t meet their expectations is run out of town on a rail. No one cried when Dennis Erickson left for the NFL, and all he did was win a national championship and post the highest winning percentage by a Miami coach in history.

National Disdain

Given all the winning Miami has done and the program’s “bad boy” image, college football fans around the country generally like to watch Miami lose. The team is disliked for its reputation of being brash and over-the-top with its confidence, and the Hurricanes are known to dance on an opposing team’s logo before the start of a road game.

This reputation generally rubs off on the coach, which is why Johnson, Davis, Erickson and now Coker are generally not seen as popular figures. It’s always been an “us against the world” mentality in Coral Gables, so when the Hurricane’s own fan base turns on the coach, he has nowhere to turn for support.

This is why Johnson, Erickson and Davis all left after establishing a winning tradition, and no coach has stayed at Miami for more than six seasons. The coaches burn out, and that’s also an unspoken tradition at Miami. They all know that they have to continue to help pump up demand for Miami football tickets and merchandise, and even a loss or two can drive them to the edge. This is why Miami’s job is the worst in college football, and Larry Coker may be the latest coach to realize just that.

Be Proactive In 2010 To Buy New Orlean Saints Tickets Early

Saints fans are still celebrating the most memorable and magical season in their memory, as their team not only staged a remarkable regular season, but also marched through the playoffs and knocked off the favored Indianapolis Colts to become the victors of Super Bowl XLIV!  It is time for Saints fans to realize, however, that because of these happy circumstances there will be significant changes in the opportunities to buy New Orlean Saints tickets during the 2010 season.  The fans who are wise enough to look ahead and make plans around their ticket purchases will be those who have the chance to see their defending champions live… and those who do not will be relegated to catching games on television at home or in sports bars.

Planning Ahead For Home Games… And Away! –

Home games for the Saints are amazing affairs that positively shake the Louisiana Superdome, and have resonated into increasing national popularity for the Saints throughout the league.  Getting home tickets at the Superdome will be a challenge, and likely only available to those who plan ahead.  But now that the Saints are legitimate contenders (and defending champs) the tickets will also be a tough find at opposing stadiums on the road, as well.  Fans will definitely need to think ahead to see their Saints live in 2010…

Exciting Schedule for 2010 Saints Football –

The 2010 schedule will bring an excellent slate of games for Nawlins fans, as the Minnesota Vikings will return for a visit to face Drew Brees and the rest of the Saints roster at the Superdome to open the league’s season.  In addition, the Saints will be facing the San Francisco 49ers on the West Coast for a Monday Night Football matchup, and the Seattle Seahawks at home under new coach Pete Carroll, fresh from his stint coaching national champions at University of Southern California.

Additionally, the Saints will play the Pittsburgh Steelers in a matchup of recent Super Bowl champions which could go a long way toward showing which franchise is on the rise, and which is on the wane.  Another highly anticipated game will send the Saints to the new Cowboys Stadium to challenge Dallas, who last year ended the Saints’ regular season winning streak.  There will also be a road tilt against the tough Cincinnati Bengals, who took the American Football Conference crown last season.  All of these games will be great opportunities for Saints fans to see their team match up against the rest of the league!

Don’t Delay, Plan for the Saints Today –

The Saints are going to be popular with fans (and will get the best shot of each and every one of their opponents, as the defending Super Bowl Champions) all around the league.  Tickets for their games will likely be hard to find no matter where the Saints are playing, so the most savvy of fans are going to make plans for their best opportunity to see the Saints live, in a location that works for their situation!

Don’t leave your opportunity to buy New Orlean Saints tickets up to chance! Be sure to click on http://www.ticketsizzle.com/s/new-orlean-saints-tickets.aspx to make the most of the upcoming 2010 season.
